This oil painting originated from a trip to Canada. When I arrived at Milk Falls near Vancouver, I was captivated by the scenery: a secluded forest, a winding milky-white stream, cascading waterfalls, rhythmically arranged stones, towering trees, and lush moss. Everything felt both natural and exquisitely refined. The experience brought me back to the atmosphere of an ancient Chinese ink painting. The sound of flowing water and the rustling of trees in the wind filled the air, yet somehow made the landscape feel even more tranquil. To enhance the poetic quality of the scene, I added a white egret standing on a rock. The bird seems to represent myself, quietly listening to the sound of silence while contemplating nature and the world before it.
