Package Dream

This painting is a watercolor work on traditional Japanese washi paper. I use these distinctly American images and recreate earlier ideas of the American Dream through a surreal visual approach.

I package these images together in paper wrapping, resembling the familiar presentation of American fast food. Through this combination, the work connects consumer culture, popular imagery, and the ideals and dreams once associated with the American Dream.
